State Rebates Available to Help Pennsylvanians Drive Cleaner Cars

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is offering rebates up to $1,000.00 for Pennsylvania residents who purchase alternative fuel vehicles. Rebates are available depending on the type of vehicle purchased.

Eligible vehicles are plug-in hybrid, plug-in electric, natural gas, propane, and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.

Rebates are offered on a first-come, first-served basis as long as funding is available. Rebates are subject to the Alternative Fuel Vehicle Rebate Guidelines. in effect at time of application, not date of vehicle purchase.

$1000 rebates on:

            Hydrogen Fuel Cell

$750 rebates on:

            Battery Electric Vehicles

$500 rebates on:

            Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles

            Compressed natural gas vehicle

            Propane fueled vehicle

            Electric motorcycle (does not include scooters)

One-time pre-owned vehicles:

            Odometer reading 75,000 miles or less

            Final purchase price under $50,000.00

            Purchased from a registered dealer

Demonstration vehicles:

            From a registered dealer

            Final purchase price under $50,000.00

            Odometer Reading: over 500 miles and less than 10,000 miles

Additional low-income rebates:

            An additional $1,000.00 is available for applicants who meet the low-income requirements. For details, see Alternative Fuel Vehicle Rebate Guidelines
